One of the dishes Kim Broomfield really enjoys cooking and serving is lemon dill salmon.

But instead of cooking for her family, she and her employees are cooking up that recipe and more and then delivering them for some 200 customers in Visalia, Tulare, Hanford, Lemoore, Fresno, Clovis and surrounding cities in the Central Valley.

Ms. Broomfield owns Precious Thyme in Hanford, a four-person small business that prepares home-style dinner entrees and delivers them to their customers’ doors.

The dinners are described as “freezer-friendly” so some of the order can be put into the freezer for later use.

((Ms. Broomfield talks about her 18-month-old business and the philosophy that’s guided her in today’s CVBT Audio Interview. Click on the link at the end of this story to listen.))

Each monthly menu contains 12 entrees and two dessert items to choose from. Seven “family size” entrees that will feed 4-5 cost $140, or 7 small entrees that will feed 2-3 go for $80. Senior citizens get a special price of only $70, she says.

Ms. Broomfield says when the time and cost of shopping and planning are added in, the Precious Thyme products are cost-effective.
